Russell and Edna Hild grew up in the car business, with both of their parents owning car lots. Their paths first crossed while transferring car deals at the tax office—and the rest, as they say, is history.
In 1983, they opened up Texas Auto Mart on Southwest Military Drive. Shortly after that, in 1984, they purchased the current location. After a couple of years working through the rezoning process, they officially opened their doors and have been running a successful family business ever since. From day one, their commitment has been simple: treat people with honesty, fairness, and respect. That philosophy has earned them loyal customers who have been returning for generations.
Today, Russell and Edna are joined by their son Rusty and son-in-law Chase, continuing to grow both the family legacy and the business. Texas Auto Mart remains proudly family-owned and operated, serving San Antonio and the surrounding areas for over 40 years.
